Shoring up the Living Network #91

 

The network system is showing some sign of overload.

We are growing in size and that is also creating bounces in some areas of our email system.

How it works:

If you send an email out to the group our IP generates dozens of emails, even a hundred or more.

Multiply that times all the groups and every response that quickly becomes thousands of emails.

Sending out the Kingdom Newsletters and that adds thousands of more emails in sometimes a short period of time.

We use cron software to send kingdom news out which takes  hours to send out one newsletter.

Companies like AOL will start to block emails from our servers IP if they see to much activity in one hour or one ten minute period.

Some mail.com, hotmail.com, Netscape.com, and AOL,com emails were blocked and did not get email newsletters.

There are several solutions to all this and we are working on them.

How the Living Network works

The Living Network was never designed to be a network of email groups.

We have been planning to go through each list after the first of the year and remove emails where there is no response at all.

This network has a well defined purpose and is not intended to depend on the internet.

 Everyone is expected to  eventually pick an active Personal Contact Minister [PCM] in their area to show their interest in networking.

There are several other Yahoo discussion groups and newsletters provided by the Church which the PCMs can tell you about.

These are Living Network groups and Picking a PCM is how you create a Living Network

Everyone will be given some time and assistance to make that happen.

If you do not want to pick a Personal Contact Minister there is no reason to be on these groups because that is their purpose.

No one will be allowed to remain an entirely anonymous member on these email groups.

Your Choice of PCM may be changed at anytime with a link in the Living Network Newsletter which you will receive only if you elect a PCM.

We encourage everyone to participating in shoring up the network because a network only works when you work at networking and that takes a team effort of people who love one another as much as they love themselves.

Newsletters

The Kingdom News go out over the network through out google groups. It is our primary email connection, but does not include the full access to detailed counseling and local assistance found in The Living Network which is established by forming the Network of tens.
